RMDC Developing Partner MFIs' Branch Management capacity

RMDC organized a training program on branch management for the Branch Managers of it's partner MFIs. The training program was held at Trade tower, Thapathali in Kathmandu from November 7-9, 2016. It was participated by 39 branch managers of 27 partner MFIs. Out of 32 participants, there were 14 female and 25 male. The main objective of the training was to enhance the managerial capacity of the branch managers and equip them with tools and techniques for managing a branch offices efficiently and effectively.

The training basically focused on concept of management, roles and responsibilities of a branch manager, financial analysis, planning and budgeting, credit management, client protection and development, monitoring supervision and risk management. The participants shared their experiences among each other. During the training the participants identified the problems and challenges faced by them.


The training program was coordinated by Ms Annapurna Shrestha, Manager of RMDC and was facilitated by herself, Mr Roop Bahadur Khadka Manager, Mr Basu Dev Lamichhane and Mr Bhola Nath Adhikari senior officers of RMDC. Likewise Mr Bhoj Raj Bashyal, General Manager of the Nirdhan Utthan Bank Ltd, Mr Mahendra Ban and Mr Mohan Prasad Bhattrai, Department Chiefs of the Swabalamban Bikas Bank Ltd also took part as resource person.

During the closing session the participants were asked about their feedback. They said that overall the training program was very effective and useful for improving their performance in the field.

Chief Executive Officer of RMDC Mr Jyoti Chandra Ojha was present as the chief guest at the closing session. During the occasion he remarked that the Branch Managers are the change agents who need to bring positive change in the organization. He also urged all the branch managers not to drift from the mission of microfinance.

He distributed certificates of achievement to the participants and congratulated them for completing the training successfully. He also thanked all the participants, resource persons and coordinator for conducting training effectively.
